Postharvest food safety and quality testing
In line with our food safety and quality management processes, we will continue to conduct testing which includes:
- classifying all farmer loads on delivery to determine the grade
- conducting postdelivery chemical residue testing on all deliveries after we have received it. If results breach Australian MRLs the farmer may be liable for the contaminated stock.
If a nil tolerance contaminant is detected at any point through the receival process the load will be rejected.
Farmers can choose to provide a sample for indicative classification and/or chemical residue testing prior to delivering. If you would like predelivery testing, we ask you to plan this in advance as chemical residue results can take up to ten business days once the sample is received.
